You look over your shoulder finally, wondering just how far you had run; or perhaps more importantly, just what exactly you were running from. You can't help but laugh to yourself now; the trees had switched from the dense cedars to reasonably spread out poplars, and you start to think that maybe it was some feeling from the vegetation you were running from instead of anything that actually might pose a threat. It was clear that nothing had followed you closely, at any rate. You smile thankfully and slow down, starting to feel winded; with the bare, deciduous trees had come a much thicker snow cover on the ground, which had only made things more difficult. Finding an erratic boulder near you, you quickly brush off any snow and lean against it, catching your breath and trying to admire the scenery you had been rushing through. The silvery trees near by matched the snow well, while beyond you could see the darker bark of maples and oaks; you can only imagine how full it must look there in any other season that winter. There was something pleasing about being able to see all of the rolling hills and snow cover though. Just as you finally start to relax, the sound of something running catches your attention; anxiously, you turn toward the noise, trying to figure out if you really should have been running after all. A blur of white and thrown snow meets your eyes first, but soon the shape of a small crystal mare becomes visible. Smiling, you watch her purposeful trot with amazement; she certainly looked striking, with her streaming mane and tail in red and white.
At first it looks like she might continue by without noticing you, so intent she seemed; nearly on some kind of premonition though, the mare turns her head directly towards you. A look of pleasant surprise crosses her face, before her gallop carries her beyond you. She quickly slows into a wide arc though and comes back to you, intriuged. As she comes to a stop before you, she tilts her head, strong concern showing in her eyes. "Are you all right?" You look at her blankly for a moment, before it dawns on you that you were still in a half-raised position, ready to run again if needed. Laughing sheepishly, you tell her that you were fine, just startled, as you go to a more comfortable position. She blinks, clearly trying to determine if you really were fine; apparently deciding you were though, she grins and nuzzles you. You grin, somewhat confused but more pleased than anything; she certainly had a friendly, loving disposition. She draws back to look at you again, and nearly seems about to say something, when someone else's voice calls out teasingly from somewhere behind you, "Tsk tsk Tina'joige, not introducing our guest to me..." The mare laughs as she replies, "Well, since I just met them and haven't even learned their name yet..." She shakes her head and rolls her eyes at you, and you grin at her before turning toward the first voice, only to find an adorable crystal stallion walking tenatively in the snow towards both of you.
He gazes at the mare adoringly as he finally draws near both of you, causing her to lean over and nuzzle him as well. You grin widely to yourself at the sight; they certainly did look cute together. You let them have a few moments together before introducing yourself, to at least answer that question. The pair both look at you with interest, and while both seem to be willing to introduce themselves as well, it is the mare who manages to say something first; "You probably already gathered that I am Tina'joige, and this is Aes'tri'oige." She exaggerates the name playfully, and the stallion bows deeply to you as it's mentioned; whether he was just playing along with a mock bow or was really doing one is difficult to tell. In any case, he looks up at you sweetly afterwards, and inquires, "I suppose you'll want to meet everyone else around here then?" You nod eagerly, not willing to miss any opportunity to see more crystals while you were out here already. He nods back, then turns towards the mare; "Well my dear, who do you think would be out here?" Tina'joige crinkles her eyebrows in thought, then replies quickly, "I've no idea, but I bet I know where they'd be." With that, she spins around and starts galloping through the snow, once more intent on a destination. Aes'tri'oige chuckles and starts off at a walk after her, mentioning as an aside to you, "We can take a more pleasurable pace, no worries." You laugh as well, relieved after your first experience running through these woods; you follow after the stallion quietly, well contented to take in your surroundings and listen to his humming for now...
